Fog House - Brown County, Indiana
"Something ordinary can be stunning." That's my motto. I think of myself as pretty ordinary, but I think this photo makes me stunning, if I do say so myself. Allow me to explain.
I'm functional. I sit here day after day and people pass me by, and most people don't look twice. But as I said before, in this photo I look good! And I remember the night this was taken. Bit of a fun story there.
It was about midnight, and these two girls--excuse me-- I mean ladies, showed up on my road. As soon as they parked and stepped out I pegged them as city girls. They were in short little skirts and high heels, looking like they'd just left a fun party and were headed home. In fact, I heard them talking, and that's exactly what they had done! But along the way they spotted a scene they liked and decided to stop off and take some pictures. Seems they were new to the area, freshly arrived from some big city, as I suspected, and they were photographers.
It was a nice night--bit of a chill in the air, and the fog had come in. The full moon added light, and shining through the fog it was pretty.
So, these two ladies try taking a picture from where they were standing, on the road, but they didn't like the angle. I guess they are dedicated to their work, because next thing you know they are tiptoeing through the newly cut cornfield in their high heels, hauling their cameras. They got things set up just the way they liked it and took a couple of pictures, and about then a pack of coyote began to howl right at the edge of that field.
Never did see ladies move as fast as those two did--guess city girls think coyote are going to have them for supper! Sure did give me a good laugh. But I'm glad they got my picture--made me look pretty darn good, didn't they.
